About Adam

I’m a filmmaker, creative director, and visual storyteller with more than 20 years of experience across digital art, animation, video production, photography, and game development.

My career has always lived at the intersection of creativity and technology. I’ve built visual worlds, shaped digital experiences, directed content, edited stories, developed production workflows, and spent years learning how image, motion, sound, and pacing work together to create emotion.

Today, I bring that experience into AI-assisted filmmaking.

What I Do

I use modern tools to create cinematic videos, brand films, commercials, concept pieces, and story-driven visual content with faster, more flexible production workflows.

But the goal is never to make something feel automated.

The goal is to make work that feels intentional, polished, and human.

For me, AI is not a shortcut around creativity. It is a production tool. A powerful one, but still a tool. Strong creative work still depends on taste, story, visual judgment, emotional clarity, and human direction.

That is where I focus.

Background

Before AI became part of my process, I had already spent years working with the foundations that make cinematic work effective: composition, lighting, movement, timing, performance, editing, visual continuity, sound, and post-production.

That background gives me a practical advantage in this new space. I understand both the creative goal and the technical path needed to get there.

My experience across digital art, animation, photography, video production, and game development shaped how I think about storytelling. I care about the big creative idea, but I also care about the frame, the rhythm, the edit, the emotional beat, and the workflow that brings it all together.

Philosophy

The creative landscape is changing quickly, but the need for meaningful, well-crafted work has not changed.

Whether I’m creating a brand film, a commercial piece, a concept trailer, or an experimental AI filmmaking project, my goal is the same:

Use the best available tools to tell stories with clarity, emotion, and visual impact.

Ideas, emotion, and meaning always come first. The tools just help us get there.

Parallax Black

I’m also the founder of Parallax Black, a cinematic AI-assisted video studio focused on helping brands, agencies, and creative teams produce high-quality visual content with smarter budgets and faster timelines.

Parallax Black is where I apply these workflows to client projects. AdamNorton.com is where I share the broader creative journey: my portfolio, experiments, process, and perspective on where filmmaking, storytelling, and AI are heading.
